Is it true?
I took a fun little online quiz on regional accents.
Those of you who know me know I’m into language and such… Well of course I am! It’s impossible not to be when you’re a sapiosexual. You just need to know about little stuff like that.
In fact, it’s right on what they’re saying. I do have people say that I sound like I’m from the Midwest, even though I haven’t lived there since I was 9 years old.
Well, it makes my day. If you read this, take the quiz and comment, so I can know how you did. Or better yet, call me so we can compare each other’s accents.

Your Result: The Inland North
You may think you speak “Standard English straight out of the dictionary” but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like “Are you from Wisconsin?” or “Are you from Chicago?” Chances are you call carbonated drinks “pop.” |

Now there’s the deception. We each think that we have no acccent, and it’s the other people who have accents. Actually, everyone has an identifiable accent. We just do not recognize our own as an accent.
