There was a posting in Digg about the fact that the President has an Executive order on his desk permitting the government to proactively seize the property of someone who has or is likely to commit a crime or do something which will interfere with his Iraq strategy.
It’s just a matter of the judgment of the Department of the Treasury that you’re a threat. They can seize everything you own without ever charging you with a crime, and you will have no recourse.
Won’t happen to you? Legally it can. They don’t need any proof, and if they’re mistaken, it’s your problem. Do you want to take that chance? If it does happen, you’ll be living on the street and you won’t have money to hire a lawyer…
