Anti-gay crusader on the Daily Show

Posted in Bad boys, Blogging, Hypocrisy at 7:03 pm by angela

I hadn’t watched this guy before. He is the person with the least awareness and self-awareness I have ever seen. And besides that, he is so gay, to be obsessed about some college student.

The guy finally got fired. I guess it was too embarrassing even for people who have no shame, like his boss, the guy who hired him in the first place.

Why Republicans hate kids

Posted in Classism, Hypocrisy at 10:36 am by angela

A nice rant on Daily Kos.

When you look at Republican policies as ‘neglectful’ because you can’t imagine anyone really doing things intentionally to hurt kids, you miss the point that they really do hate children. They think they are lazy parasites on society, something they inherited from their parents, 90% of whom are are insufficiently wealthy for their existence to be tolerated.

They think that in a fair society, the children of the poor, working class, and middle class would not be going to public schools where tax dollars are wasted trying to teach them how to think question authority. They would be working long hours at dangerous jobs in factories, sweatshops or on farms for pennies an hour, like their parents, who would be required to teach them to read, write, and do arithmetic without any help from the government. The government would quit coddling them and give them a kick in their lazy asses straight into the “real world”.

They think that most people don’t deserve the jobs they have already. Certainly not any “liberals” out there. If they’re making more than minimum wage, they should get a pay cut. And minimum wage should be reduced or eliminated as well.

They are rich enough to buy their children out of the public school system. They can afford to pay for medical care when needed. They fully expect that their kids will inherit not only wealth but power.

They figure if they were to eliminate unemployment benefits and food stamps that the wrong people would stop having kids and the ones they have would stop existing.

Remember this? He may have been the only one who came out and said it, but he wasn’t the only one thinking it. And at the time he got a lot of support from people who tried to excuse it by saying that he worded it carelessly.

How is talking about changing government policy so that people become so malnourished that they can no longer reproduce anything but genocide?

No. They hate kids and want them to die. It’s not an accident of policy priorities. This is not something we can address with logic, reason, and facts. We cannot deal with it without recognizing that fact and addressing it. It’s time to stop being polite because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying something mean.

They really have declared war on kids.

The Ballad of George Rekers?

Posted in humor, Hypocrisy, video at 10:22 pm by angela

For those of you who somehow missed the story, George Rekers, retired neuropathology professor and self-proclaimed expert on teh gay, was paid handsomely to testify against gay adoption in Florida (as well as other states), where he also declared that Native Americans should not be permitted to adopt. The judge wisely threw out his testimony

Then last week it turned out he hired a male escort to travel with him and give him massages.

Oh, no. Hiring an escort on rentboy.com isn’t gay. But now there’s a song on Youtube about it.

Colbert as Hannity’s Pimp

Posted in Accountability, humor, Hypocrisy at 2:07 pm by angela

Following up on the farce that the supposed ACORN tapes have turned out to be… The transcripts of the originals show that both the O’Keefe and Giles were dressed in street clothes. He was posing as a college student trying to help an abused prostitute escape with some underage prostitutes from her pimp, all the rest is creative editing and dubbing.

Nobody does it better than Stephen Colbert, if the “it” he does best is creative editing to make it look like someone is saying something they never meant to say.

Sarah Palin reverting to type, once again

Posted in Bad girls, Hypocrisy, Sarah Palin at 12:42 am by angela

Well, once a quitter, always a quitter. Once again Sarah Palin has quit—this time after announcing on Twitter that she would run a 5k race. But she quit before reaching the finish line, to avoid the crowd.

Hello? There wouldn’t have been a crowd there if she hadn’t made the announcement, now would there?

Earth to Susan Collins

Posted in Accountability, Hypocrisy, Susan Collins at 1:52 pm by angela

Hello? Is there anybody in there?

Beam me up, Scotty, there’s no intelligent life down here.

So sorry, Susan, you failed big time with this one. I can just imagine the little wheels turning in your brain as you sift through right wing talking points to decide which ones you can make mileage on.

I receive Susan Dearest’s press releases in my email periodically. I am sure they did not read the opinion I sent to her office on some subject or another which triggered my being added to her mailing list, as my opinion did not agree with her position. I don’t always read these emails, because sometimes they get me upset. But the subject title, “$95 million for CMP Smart Grid, H1N1 vaccine shortages, and more updates” caught my eye this time, and I said to myself, “I bet I know what she is saying about the H1N1 vaccine shortages, since she just copies and pastes the Republican party line.”

I was right. Yup, she is blaming the Obama administration and demanding an investigation to find out which of them is to blame.

In a letter Monday to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Senator Susan Collins, Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, asked for urgent explanations on the availability of the H1N1 flu vaccine. Her letter follows the committee’s recent hearing, “H1N1 Flu: Monitoring the Nation’s Response,” held Oct. 21 to examine safety, supply and delivery issues.

In her letter Monday, Senator Collins, R-Maine, expressed additional concerns and questioned why some of the vaccines won’t arrive until after people have been infected with the virus. Senator Collins requested answers to her inquires by Friday. The full text of the letter follows:

Senator Collins demands urgent explanation of H1N1 vaccine shortages, delays

Let’s step back a minute here and breathe, Susan. Think. Remember that economic stimulus package you hated so much and wanted to get rid of entirely? But you couldn’t, and you decided to gut it to get political mileage out of it? Remember that provision for pandemic flu preparedness that you bragged about removing? Remember when I contacted your office expressing concern that a potential H1N1 epidemic might require that preparedness and was told by some mouthpiece employee of your that this was not the time or the place to achieve that goal, and you would work on that to get it done? Okay, I don’t see any reason why you would remember a human being who votes in Maine contacting your office to express a contrary opinion, since every time I have contacted your offices by phone or in person the people there have tried to argue with me and been just generally rude.

But seriously, did you? Did you enact a flu pandemic measure to take the place of the one you removed from that bill? No, of course you did not. So why not? And why do you think you should get any kind of credit at this point for blaming the Obama Administration for what you are responsible for?

Did you do anything at all? No? Then why are you not to blame for these deaths, when you could have done something but did not, just as you have worked hard to deny health care to so many of your constituents, some of whom die every day thanks to your political opportunism?

So what’s the issue? Do you think we have short-term memory loss? Do you? Is it fair to say that you think we are stupid? Or as I often say about politicians, do you just think we are as stupid as you are?

On female politicians and effectiveness

Posted in Female superiority, Female supremacy, Hypocrisy, irrational thought, Political rant at 11:55 am by angela

Now I wouldn’t have guessed this from looking at my own Congressmen, but probably I’m prejudiced against my state’s Senators, who are Republicans and seem to spend all their time sucking up to lobbyists while pretending to be moderates, while the Democrats actually seem to work for me no matter what gender they be.

…shows that they are more effective than male politicians. They are better leaders because they get more of the stuff they’re supposed to get done done.

The study corrected for gender-seniority, since women politicians often have shorter careers in politics, and minority status. But dang, they were just more effective at serving their constituents.

How could that be?

Well maybe, just maybe they were spending their time doing the jobs they were elected to do instead of letting power go to their heads and spending their time in gamesmanship and the quest for ever-increasing personal wealth. Maybe they were feeling responsible to their constituents instead of lobbyists.

Eh, who knows? But keep an eye on that.

But very interestingly, a diary in Daily Kos, that tried to show that it was sexist to even run such a study. The original writer has trouble with the scientific method, not understanding what a hypothesis is and how one might be tested. He thinks that studies are set up not to test, but to prove a point or advance an agenda.

It’s hard to imagine what kind of committee would be appropriate for pre-screening research projects to decide which ones might come up with inappropriate new knowledge, so we can avoid such research in the first place.

Now he wouldn’t be upset if the study had found that males made better pols than females.

And his claim that the only logical conclusion would be legally-enforced female supremacy – laws preventing males from running for office – is beyond absurd.

Just a troll.

The guy’s a troll, but enjoy.

RNC picks “teabagger” to rebut President’s education speech

Posted in Economy, educational rant, humor, Hypocrisy at 12:26 pm by angela

THIS JUST IN:

The RNC has announced that its rebuttal tonight of President Obama’s national address to schoolchildren will be delivered by Hiram Walker Jones, a part-time worker at a 7/11 in Oklahoma. Michael Steele, National Chairman, characterizes the upcoming speech as a “strong statement for parental rights and American public opinion.”

Jones, who dropped out of middle school when he reached age 16 after being held back 3 times, “has been proudly working for corporate America,” said Mitch McConnell, who added that he stands shoulder-to-shoulder with working Americans who are not afraid to stand up for free market principles.

“Jones will speak out against education as a scam that elitist liberals use to cheat their way into positions of power and control over the media. He will also talk about reverse discrimination and reverse racism endemic in the current administration. He will speak about the rights of parents not to have their kids in school lectured to by an uppity black man,” said Rush Limbaugh, when asked for a comment.

“He will come out against socialist policies like universal health care, food stamps, and unemployment compensation, which are breaking the backs of the hardest-working Americans, the wealthy, and creating a nation dependent on government handouts,” said John Boehner, in a statement to the press. “We are proud that an uninsured American like Jones, who has not fallen for liberal lies about health care reform despite having a diabetic child who is unable to see a doctor and a mother who died from cancer last year after her health insurance company rescinded her policy for not telling them her feet hurt after working a double shift at the local truck stop, where she was a waitress, serving proud American truckers, who are the lifeblood of this country.”

Said Betsy McCaughey, “Jones will wisely come out against major changes to the health care system, changes that might result in health care services being provided to the tens of millions undeserving living in our midst.”

A spokesman for the National Heritage Foundation said that real Americans like Jones are showing us that polls do not represent what real Americans really think about the issues. “Real Americans understand that it is necessary to first balance the budget and cut taxes to the wealthy, even if it means increasing taxes to the working poor, eliminating all social services, and a return to debtor’s prisons.”

Jones became involved in the Tea Party movement when he heard about it in April while watching the Glenn Beck show and listening to Rush Limbaugh, as he does daily. He attended the April 15th rally, but was unable to attend a July4th rally, as he couldn’t afford to put gas in his car.

Jones is currently working his shift at the convenience store, and could not be reached for comment. A 7/11 spokesman said that under no circumstances are employees permitted personal calls while at work.

Jones is living with his wife and 3 children in his father’s basement.

On “The Family” – questions

Posted in Accountability, corruption, Hypocrisy, Religious fanatacism at 1:25 pm by angela

The more we read about the shadowy “C-Street” religious group, the more questions that are raised.

Rachel Maddow did an interesting interview with an expert on the group, a non-profit that provides cheap rent for religiously like-minded Congressmen, prayer breakfasts, “counseling” for members to assuage their guilty consciences after straying from their marriage vows, and above all, secrecy. Lots of secrecy.

C Street, where The Family residesThe group is models itself on the Mafia, or on dictators like Pol Pot, Stalin, and Mao. It apparently on a mission to form an international alliance of Old White Christian Men in Power, to turn the world into a neat Christian theocracy where everything is black and white. Of course “rules” only apply to other people.

Members of the group apparently have had no qualms about visiting to meet with leaders of other countries to missionize on the taxpayer’s dollar.

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Mark Sanford and his familyMark Sanford was a member of this group. He spoke of going abroad with other men recreationally, without his wife, to “blow off steam”. He says that while there he had “inappropriate” relationships with other women besides his Argentine paramour, although he claims he never did anything more serious than “dancing”.

Come on, guys. Did the taxpayers pay for Mark Sanford and other politicians to have international sexual tourism and missionizing trips?
