The New Boy - Introduction

A game? A novel?

I know that games have become quite popular now in some circles, although I have also heard complaints that sales are flagging.

I also know that just in general some of the (ahem) products I was intimidated by turned out to be somewhat less impressive than I thought they were going to be. To think all this time I was wasting my talents by not writing assignments of adequate quality because I thought that the prevailing standard was so high that I could not achieve it, when I finally came to discover that even the best are sometimes weak. Or perhaps I should just say, not excessively overengineered.

Certainly in the case of games, one would not think that being able to make a quality game is something that not everyone would be able to excel at.

But nevertheless, be this an interactive novel or whatever you wish to call it...

Choose your path. Unlike in real life, you can always retrace your steps to see what would have happened had you made different choices.

Better choices? It seems in this novel that none of the choices you have available to you are particularly good.

You are the main character of this tale. I might call you its "protagonist", but I am fairly certain that you are yet to make the commitment to turn your life around and become a good guy. Right now, you are just another slacker in the process of becoming one of our long-suffering students.

Enjoy, but beware!
